Compliance Assistant: Making Store Setup Simpler
Prepare your store’s legal documents and AI reply rules in Workspace, with clear steps for the information you need to provide, review, and confirm.

Bringing a business online takes more than product photographs and prices. Customers also want to know how to collect an order, how delivery works, and whom to contact when something goes wrong. When AI starts answering on the merchant’s behalf, another decision follows: what can it explain directly, and which commitments need the owner’s confirmation? These preparations shape both customer understanding and merchant responsibility.
Leptex Compliance Assistant brings store document preparation and AI reply rules into the Compliance page in Workspace. Merchants can organize business information, read standard documents, add their own terms, and review reply rules drafted with AI assistance. The aim is to make the work of preparing a store clearer, so owners can address, check, and maintain each part.
Start with the practical questions of opening a farm store
Lucky Farm is Leptex’s first onboarded customer. Working with the farm use case brings attention to the preparation behind a storefront: owners know their products, but they also need to turn fulfillment arrangements, after-sales processes, and contact information into terms customers can understand.
Consider a farm preparing to sell fruit online. It needs to explain where customers can collect orders, how delivery problems are handled, and how to contact the seller after receiving the fruit. If a customer asks for a delivery time that has not been confirmed, the assistant should leave that question open for confirmation instead of presenting the customer’s expectation as the farm’s commitment. This is an illustrative use case, not a claim that Lucky Farm has adopted every setting described below.
For someone managing production and sales, organizing this information across documents, web pages, and chat instructions is additional work. The Compliance page provides one place to prepare, inspect, and update store documents and AI reply rules.
Bring store documents together
The page provides the platform’s standard privacy policy and base terms of service. Merchants can read the documents, add business information such as their contact email and location, and write terms for delivery, returns and refunds, service cancellation, or other matters relevant to their business.
Selecting a supported sales region displays general information about relevant requirements. The page also uses the goods and services in the merchant’s catalog to show the relevant fields. A fruit seller, for example, needs to consider fulfillment and returns; a business offering appointments needs to consider cancellation and service delivery.
The guidance helps merchants understand what each field is asking for. Merchants write their own additional terms, with help from a lawyer where needed; this part of the page does not use AI to draft those terms or carry out a legal review. Saved business information and additional terms are used to assemble the documents customers see in the store.
The purpose is to make the documents reflect the actual business. Standard wording provides a starting point, and merchants still need to check that its descriptions match their operations and resolve anything they are unsure about.
Decide what AI may say on your behalf
Store documents describe the business’s terms. AI reply rules help define how the assistant should handle customer questions. The rule-drafting flow begins with three questions:
- What do you primarily sell?
- Who do you sell to, and in which regions?
- What must the AI avoid saying or promising?
Merchants can answer in everyday language. The assistant proposes rules and explains the reason for each one. Every rule can be edited or deselected, and the merchant can request a new draft, different wording, or additional clauses.
A farm might ask the assistant not to promise a specific arrival time before delivery has been confirmed, or to seek the merchant’s confirmation when an after-sales question is not covered by the available information. These are examples of business boundaries to consider; the actual rules should match the merchant’s operations.
The Workspace owner reviews and confirms the final rules before enabling them. They apply to AI replies to customers across all projects in that workspace. Owners therefore need to check that each rule is appropriate for every project, while maintaining product-specific prices and fulfillment details in the relevant business information.
Keep decisions open to inspection and revision
Control needs to be visible in the way a product works. Merchants should be able to inspect what they have prepared, understand where their rules apply, and revise them as the business changes.
Compliance Assistant supports document preparation, general information, and AI-assisted drafting. It does not provide legal advice or replace a lawyer. Generated content may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information; saving documents or enabling reply rules does not establish that a store meets every applicable requirement.
Reply rules also cannot guarantee that AI will always interpret and follow them correctly. Merchants still need to check important replies and commitments. Specific contracts, disputes, licensing, and business across jurisdictions may require advice from an appropriately qualified professional.
Making these boundaries clear helps owners understand which preparations they can complete on the page and which questions need further help.
Get started in Workspace
Compliance Assistant is a feature within Workspace. When preparing a store, merchants can follow these steps:
- Open Compliance, select a supported sales region, enter business information, and read the store’s standard documents.
- Write the additional terms relevant to the goods or services offered, check the content, and save it.
- Open the AI reply-rule flow, describe the business, customers, and commitments that need limits, and review the proposed rules.
- Have the Workspace owner confirm their scope and enable them, then use common customer questions to check whether actual replies meet expectations.
Store documents and AI reply rules need separate preparation and maintenance. Editing one document should not be taken to mean that rules elsewhere have automatically been synchronized. When pickup, delivery, or after-sales arrangements change, the related business information also needs to be checked for consistency.
Clear rules support an ongoing business
Leptex CaaP (Chat as a Page) helps customers see products, ask questions, and find their next step. Compliance Assistant helps merchants prepare for those exchanges: document the terms of the business and keep AI reply rules available for the owner to review and adjust.
Simpler store setup should mean that the work is easier to understand and unresolved questions are easier to spot. We want owners to spend more of their attention on products and customers while retaining control over their operating rules and commitments. This is one practical expression of personal intelligence: built around your goals, guided by your choices.
