About Leptex

Leptex builds personal intelligence for farmers and independent businesses, helping them connect products with buyers while keeping people in control of their information and decisions.

About the role

Lead agricultural sales from finding farms and produce to building partnerships and selling through Leptex, while developing the sales team. This is a full-time, on-site role in the United States, working directly with the founder and visiting suppliers and buyers as needed.

Compensation: Cash compensation and any variable-pay arrangements have not yet been determined. Compensation, any applicable benefits, and any commission or bonus terms will be agreed in writing before work begins.

What you'll do

  • Find supply: Identify farms, suppliers, and available produce that can meet real buyer demand.
  • Build partnerships: Agree on approved products, quantities, prices, and responsibilities with suppliers.
  • Develop buyer channels: Build relationships with buyers, communities, local businesses, and referral partners.
  • Sell through Leptex: Turn merchant-approved product information into clear offers and sales activity on the platform.
  • Sell personally: Support key negotiations and follow opportunities through payment confirmation and fulfillment.
  • Build the team: Help recruit and coach salespeople as the business develops.
  • Set priorities: Agree on practical sales goals and budgets that reflect supply, seasonality, and fulfillment capacity.
  • Track results: Review completed sales, fulfillment, and repeat purchases using reliable merchant records.
  • Resolve obstacles: Coordinate with the responsible parties on shortages, cancellations, refunds, and order issues.
  • Improve with AI: Use AI tools for research, sales materials, and analysis while verifying facts and protecting confidential information.

What we're looking for

  • Learning ability: You quickly learn unfamiliar products, supply conditions, buyer needs, and tools.
  • Resource development: You can find and connect suitable suppliers, buyers, and channel partners.
  • Sales ability: You can earn trust, explain an offer, negotiate, and help complete a sale.
  • Product judgment: You understand why fresh-produce quality, availability, shelf life, and fulfillment need verification.
  • Leadership: You can give clear direction and useful feedback while staying involved in the work.
  • Communication: You can communicate and negotiate effectively in English with suppliers, buyers, and colleagues.
  • Commercial reasoning: You can work with quantities, prices, costs, and order records while respecting approval limits.
  • AI tools: You can use AI to work efficiently while checking its output and handling information responsibly.
  • Ownership: You can work on site, organize varied tasks, and follow through on agreements.
  • Evidence of ability: Practical results matter more than a particular degree, minimum number of years, or previous management title.

How we measure success

Sales: Net product sales from paid, fulfilled orders and supplier partnerships that lead to completed transactions.

Fulfillment: On-time fulfillment rate, cancellation and refund rates, and follow-through on order issues.

Repeat purchases: Repeat-buyer counts and rates over an agreed period appropriate to the products.
